My name is Jason Baker – I started  Sasquatch Recording in 2019  with the goal of creating a low-pressure, musician-centered studio for making great music in a super-vibey space.  In addition to music production, I am a member of the Pink Floyd tribute Pigs on the Wing,  heavy psych-rock-stoner  band Skyraker and my solo project, Citizen Vs. Narwhal.

The Bingen Theater is a unique, non-traditional space for making and capturing music.  Sony Recording studios this is not. It’s a historic 1940s era movie theater with excellent acoustics in the sound-treated 220 seat live room, a huge stage, isolation rooms for amps, and a purpose built control room and studio for mixing  / dubs / mastering.  The theater is a busy shared space with Big Britches Productions,  hosting many live theatrical productions,  meaning availability is tight for blocks of time for tracking.  I also work out of my home studio space in Portland and occasionally host tracking / dubs / mix sessions there as well. 

My approach: create a comfortable atmosphere for artists to create and capture the best possible performances in a ‘live’ in the studio’ philosophy.   I enjoy taking an active role in engineering and producing killer albums from start to finish but also accept mixing and editing projects, mastering  / post production,  project management, lessons, consultation and even tour managment.
